I need some batting help and gotta make money work. Lamet has the stuff to be great, but can he stay healthy. Connor gets to take that chance and Alberto is there to help even out the cap. Altuve is a great player and is playing exceptionally well and should help my playoff push. Couldn’t let the other New York team show me up too much

Altuve is performing well this year, but he's only under contract for this and the next year and I'm not sure he can keep the production up.

Hanser is a decent bench bat that might be of use in the future, but the real target here is Lamet. A sky high risk investment, but one that has the potential to deliver huge returns if he can return to even 75% of his peak. Locking him up for 5 years gives me the chance to see if he can help me in a future run and the potential to pivot him if my window is further away.
