(continued negotiating, updated 4:05 p.m.)
The Nats and Mets are bucking the unwritten rule of trading within ones division. Here are the details of today's swap:
NATIONALS acquire: - Pitcher Chris Sale (who the Nats GM really, really hoped more people forgot about during the draft) - MLB pick 218 - MLB pick 263
METS acquire: - MLB pick 291 - Prospects Pick 81 - Prospects Pick 141 - Prospects Pick 160 - Prospects Pick 220 - 2022 2nd round rookie pick
Dave, it was a pleasure and I wish you the best, but only to the extent that you do not harm my playoff chances or future success.

The Mets agree to this deal. We like Chris Sale but when the Mets had mentioned the idea of wearing the '86 unis for most the season, Sale threw a hissy fit and we knew he wasn't the veteran leader needed in our clubhouse.
We like the idea of more prospect picks as we are focusing on the youth movement now that Cohen is in charge.
Pleasure.
