The OK Blue Jays and Swashbuckling Pittsburgh Pirates have agreed to the following trade:
Jays trade:
RP: Camilo Doval - 1.5M (2024) RFA (2025)
Pirates trade:
RP: Emmanuel Clase - 13.25M (2026)
SPECT: Chase DeLauter
SPECT: Yu-Min Lin
2025 3rd (PIT)
Blue Jays accept.
Iunno about this one. I like Doval a lot and he's kinda/sorta my guy, whilst Clase had some trouble last year and good heavens that's a big cap hit. BUT, I think I've managed to squeeze some good value out here in terms of adding to my prospect pool and, looking at the current free agent contracts being dished out, I think that Clase contract could age well. Nice dealing with Pirates and I hope this ultimately looks good for both of us.
