I needed a guy with 3B elig to avoid having an empty spot in my starting lineup and free agency has been an absolute rap video in terms of money being thrown around so had to go this route. Montero has just enough upside to make my cock hard and the photo that pops up when you google him is hilariously excessive. As a man of excess myself, I respect it. He’s also been shit so far and is in his last year before RFA so I won’t get fucked resigning him if he turns out to be an actual baseball player. Speier has zero pedigree, but the dude’s left handed, can hit triple digits and has absolutely overpoweringly nasty stuff when he’s in the zone. The Mariners tend to do pretty well turning nothing pitchers into effective relievers, so he’s a pretty decent dice thrower to put my money on. Picks far enough out for me to be able to squint enough to see good value for me in this trade.
