Chicago Trades: Mike Mayers
Pittsburgh Trades: Jesus Luzardo 2024 2nd (Pit)
I have a lot of cap space and I figured I could use it on a lottery ticket. Luzardo has been very bad, but if he can turn it around at some point in the next year or 2, maybe that $12.5m a year can be okay. Of course I'm sending a solid RP his way too, so I think it was important for me to get a 2nd round pick so I end up with something out of the deal if Luzardo continues to suck and I have to buy him out.
Thank you Pirates, good dealing with you.

Agree, I obviously need some cap space and RP is a position of need so helps all around. Good dealing

I quickly approve almost all trades. This one has stench written all over it. Luzardo + a 2nd round pick for Mayers who isn't the closer or the setup guy? I get the need for Pittsburgh to dump the salary and have no issue there. The season doesn't start for about 2 weeks. I know there is apparently a part B of this trade. I'm opposed until I see that part. Sorry.
