Andrew, solid trade, if Gausman backs it up these next two seasons you could have a solid contract extension for him lined up.
I agree with Padres take that moving a SP for a RP is a bit of a dangerous move, but if it makes sense for both parties, you might as well go for it. Trading for prospects can also be a risk as they could not develop as you think they will, so trading for need is never a bad thing, especially since this RP is the closer for the Astros. Even if he loses the closing, he will still likely be in a solid set up role and get holds. Solid deal, would’ve like to see the Mets get a bit more for Gausman, but I understand the move. Approve.
