Each team is allowed one (1) contract extension per season. A "season" is defined as the start of the first scoring period, until the end of the TCD World Series. If you do not use your yearly extension you will lose it as it does not roll over. You can not trade your extension.
Players who are a RFA at the end of their current contract are not allowed to be extended and must follow the salary arbitration process outlined in the league rules. Players who are UFA at the end of their current contracts are eligible for a contract extensions.
When using your contract extension, you can extend a player for either one (1), two (2), or three (3) additional years at a 150% cap hit increase of their previous cap hit.
Example: An extension of Mike Trout who had a previous cap hit of $12.00M would cost you $18.00M.
